One of my favorite memories with my son is watching his first Easter egg hunt. We went to the National Zoo, where they had a specific Easter egg hunt for toddlers and it was fun to see my son try to find the eggs and put them into his basket. Here are the best Easter egg hunts in Northern Virginia (plus two more in DC!). Not all events will have easter baskets for the kids, so remember to bring your own easter basket to collect the eggs! There’s also a mix of both free and paid events in the list. Many of the Easter events, however, are already included in the admission price.

If you didn’t get into the White House Egg Roll, another great alternative on Easter Monday is the special event at the National Zoo. The Zoo will have Easter egg hunts, special animal demonstrations, and a visit from the Easter Panda. There’s also various educational booths and activities for the kids. Last year, State Farm was giving away animal masks and National Geographic children’s books.
